List Procedure
Unless the parties have agreed on a different method of appointment, arbitrators will be appointed on the basis of the so-called 'List Procedure'.
The NAI draws up a list of names of possible arbitrators. This list is sent to all the parties. Each party can register any objection and number the remaining names in order of preference.
The NAI will then compare the returned lists and appoint the arbitrator or arbitrators. The names of the arbitrators should ideally come from the General Panel of Arbitrators.
