Structure of the NAI

The Netherlands Arbitration Institute is an independent organisation in the form of a foundation (stichting). Its Governing Board consists of representatives from the Association of Chambers of Commerce in the Netherlands (Vereniging Kamers van Koophandel in Nederland), the Chambers of Commerce of Amsterdam, the Netherlands Organisation of the International Chamber of Commerce and the Association for Industry and Trade (Maatschappij voor Nijverheid en Handel). The Board also includes members with experience of arbitration from the business community, the legal profession and several universities as well as from the judiciary. The Institute of Chartered Accountants is also represented.

Arbitration is administered by the NAI Secretariat, which is based in Rotterdam.
