Can the NAI give out the names of arbitrators?


This question is sometimes asked by people who are not involved in an NAI arbitration. On occasion, these people even ask for a copy of the General Panel of Arbitrators. However, the NAI cannot comply with these requests.

Names of arbitrators which appear on the General Panel of Arbitrators are only used in the context of the list procedure in an NAI arbitration. The General Panel of Arbitrators, which forms part of the NAI’s know-how cannot, therefore, be made available to third parties – unless such a request is made by a judge, a (foreign) sister organisation or a chamber of commerce.
