Does one need permission to incorporate an arbitration clause which refers a matter to arbitration?
Such permission is not required. In some cases it would be advisable to consult the NAI in advance. If, for instance, the arbitration clause is to be incorporated in standard terms and conditions which are or will be used frequently, the NAI can, when amending the General Panel of Arbitrators, take account of the expertise required for the branch in which the terms and conditions are to be used.
